Today I joined another sewalong. TWO at one time! What is wrong with me? I’m already behind in the Jacket a Month sewalong. Even though there are no set monthly goals, I’d set goals for myself (so much for those good intentions).
But you know what? This sewalong actually works because it’s a Ready to Wear Jacket Tailoring class over at Pattern Scissors Cloth. A jacket! Just what I need.
Sherry is going to teach us “the fusible method that is used in most garment manufacturing today – where everything is completely machine sewn.” No padstitching. No horsehair. No twill tape. This is so exciting and will get me one jacket closer to meeting my 12 jackets goal for this year. Now I just need to decide on a pattern and what fabric to use from my stash.
Sherry suggested going with “good” fabric this first time out so I’m leaning towards this. What do you think?
And I have this picture I’d like to copy and I plan to use Simplicity 0611.
ETA: I didn’t know the picture below was a pattern (Vogue 1721) until I saw it as a giveaway on SunnyGal Studio Sewing blog. Must be kismet.
I’m really excited about this sewalong plus, I get my first sewalong badge for my blog. Yea!
